The 3rd HKUPP Symposium was held on August 16, 2008 at Amsterdam RAI International Convention
Center during the HUPO 7th World Congress (August 16-20, 2008, Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Future plans were also discussed at the Amsterdam meeting:
1. HKUPP will organize the following 4 groups to promote the HKUPP mission:
1) Standardization group chaired by Visith Thongboonkerd (Siriraj Hospital,
Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand)
2) Database group organized by Tadashi Yamamoto (Institute Nephrology,
Niigata University, Niigata, Japan)
3) Education group organized by Antonia Vlahou (Biomedical Re search Foundation
of the Academy of Athens, Athens, Greece)
4) Clinical group: Organizers will be nominated soon.
2. HKUPP will release "Standard protocols for Non-proteinuric Urine Proteomic Analysis" as a paper and at the website.
3. The 3rd HKUPP Workshop will be held on November 5, 2008 (Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Room Commonwealth B) at 3 pm to 6 pm during the ASN meeting at Philadelphia.
4. Prof. Pierre Ronco iINSERM702, Francej has been a co-chair of HKUPP
as a representative of European group since HKUPP was organized in 2005
and he played an important role in the settlement of HKUPP, however, he
would like to step down from HKUPP co-chair@because he becomes busier
for other scientific tasks. We deeply appreciate his help for organizing
and developing HKUPP. At the end of the 3rd symposium, we selected Prof.
Harald Mischak (Mosaiques diagnostics & therapeutics AG, Hannover,
Germany) as a co-chair from the EuoKUP.
